Russ Schleipman Photography

A decided New Englander, Russ lives in Boston but calls Vermont home. As a kid he roamed his home town, shooting with a little folding camera, and couldn’t wait for the prints to come back from the drugstore. A graduate of Exeter and Dartmouth, where he majored in Geography and minored in French, he has always had a passion for taking the road less traveled and heading over the horizon.  His town turned into a continent, and when crossing the country while in college he was awed by the vastness of the west. It was on those crossings that he was first compelled to capture a foreign landscape photographically so that he could bring home visual testimony to what he had seen. The Marco Polo syndrome and his love of photography led him to a career of commercial and editorial shooting for clients who enabled global travel and access to a wealth of experiences.
Russ’ photography can be found around the world.

Russ’s work straddles the line between art and commerce. A firm believer that commercial and personal work should be equally compelling, his archive is proof, and bears a consistent vision.  It has been included in The Communication Arts Photography Annual over a dozen times, has placed in dozens of competitions and was featured on CBS Sunday Morning. His considerable archive is now available, for the first time, to the fine art market.
