The Home Trust International (HTI)
What first compelled you to write professionally?

Camilla Carboni (CC): I have always loved to write and as a young girl I frequented 5 Star Hotels with my grandmother. She taught me to enjoy the finer things in life and appreciate the little details that come with high-end service. Later, my passion for writing and my love of luxury naturally united, and I specialize exclusively in curating copywriting for luxury brands across the globe.

HTI:
Who or what has been the strongest influence on your career and why?
CC: My mother. She instilled in me the belief that anything is possible and encouraged me to pursue my dreams.

HTI:
If you could have told your 20 year old self one thing, what would it have been?
CC: Writers can absolutely make a living. Do what you love, deliver quality, and you will succeed.

HTI:
Please tell us about your family and your personal life.
CC: I was born and raised in South Africa by loving and supportive parents. After graduating with a Master’s Degree, I moved to Vancouver, Canada before immigrating to the USA, where my first port of call was Hawaii. There I met my now husband, Matt, a Colorado native, who convinced me to move to Denver. We now call Colorado home and enjoy the beautiful outdoors, as well as time at home with our tuxedo cat, when we are not socializing with friends and family, or jet setting around the world.

HTI:
What is the best advice you have received and who was it from?
CC: “If you can dream it, you can do it,” Walt Disney.

HTI:
Is there a common thread that runs through all great products? This need not be specific to your category.
CC: Yes, I believe the golden thread is uncompromising quality.

HTI:
Do you prefer the country or the city?
CC: Both! I adore exploring the peaceful countryside of Provence just as much as I love the hustle and bustle of downtown Dubai, for example.

HTI:
What recent project or transaction are you most proud of?
CC: I had the honor of writing for the historic Villa I Busini in Tuscany, which was recently featured in Architectural Digest. I adore curating copywriting that addresses beauty, history, functionality, and luxurious, experiential living.

HTI:
In what ways has your industry changed over the years?
CC: The luxury sector is in the midst of transformation, as a new and younger generation of consumers drive the need for digital presence, AI, and environmental consideration. This requires a changed, more conscious narrative.

HTI:
The one thing I’ve had forever is:
CC: An elegant bracelet my father gave me as a young girl.

HTI:
What do you miss the most?
CC: South African delicacies.

HTI:
What is your favorite object that reflects extraordinary design (or love, etc) and why?
CC: My engagement ring. The intricate detailing captures my love of unique design elements and brings a smile to my face every day.

HTI:
What makes a room sing?
CC: Books, art, and flowers.

HTI:
What place most inspires you?
CC: Hawaii.

HTI:
Please tell us about your taste in music or books. Do you have a favorite author or artist?
CC: I adore the sounds of nature—waves gently lapping on the shore, rivers flowing, and birds chirping at sunrise. One of my favorite books is Peter Mayle’s, A Year In Provence, though I mostly read non-fiction business books. Claude Monet is my all-time favorite artist.

HTI:
Do you have a favorite museum? Why is it your favorite?
CC: The Art Institute of Chicago. The architecture is a work of art itself.

HTI:
What is your favorite brand and why?
CC: That changes with each project I work on. I become fully immersed in each client’s brand and excited about their prospects.

HTI:
When you’re not working where are you most likely to be found?
CC: Strolling in nature, enjoying an earl grey tea in my living room, or sipping fine wine in Napa, Tuscany, or Provence.

HTI:
What makes a great organization?
CC: An exceptional leader who embodies integrity, innovation, and a commitment to continual growth.

HTI:
Why The Home Trust?
CC: I have a profound appreciation of the luxury sector and all things of beauty. One’s home is such a personal and essential part of one’s being, and I believe an investment in the home is one of the best investments one can make.

HTI:
If you weren’t in your current field, what would you be doing?
CC: Perhaps an artist. I love to paint impressionist oil paintings, inspired by beautiful landscapes.

HTI:
Who is on your personal ‘Board of Directors?’
CC: My husband, my mom, my tuxedo cat, and pages of notes from my mentors.

HTI:
 Closing thoughts, please:
CC: I think all art—be it interior design, architecture, or writing—should be true to the values of the individual or business. Out of authenticity, culture and desire is born.  I welcome readers to contact me and I am honored to be included among such talent. I appreciate all The Home Trust is doing for luxury brands and affluent clientele alike.
